Historic charm, picturesque settings & Victorian eccentricity
First opening its doors in 1881, an event in Tides at the Somerville is following in the footsteps of hundreds of thousands before you.
Nestled in the comfort of our beautifully refurbished restaurant, there’s a palpable sense of heritage when you enter through our doors. The building has an undeniable presence, and the kind of warmth that comes only from over a century of happiness and celebration. If the walls could talk they would probably sing but it’s probably a good thing they can’t!
Legend states the Louis Phillipe, “Compte de Paris » – then contender to the French Throne – used the Somerville as the perfect setting to welcome noble persons from Brittany & Normandy in the late 1800’s. In truth, little is known about that day, but we’d like to think it culminated in the same merriment and happiness as is seen every week to this day!

The Garden Suite
Situated in the oldest part of the hotel, with stunning views over St Aubins Bay, The Garden Suite is the perfect venue for small celebrations.
The room can be closed off, offering you a private dining experience with sea views over to St Helier. It’s the perfect place for a lunch, afternoon tea, dinner or board meeting. The room is also registered as a wedding venue if you want to tie the knot!

High Tide
Located in the original dining room of the hotel from 1881, High Tide oozes charm and sophistication in perfect privacy.
Available to use for lunches, afternoon teas, dinners & drinks, this space can be closed off from the rest of the restaurant offering a completely private area.

The Study
Situated next to the bar in the old billiards room and library “The Study” is the perfect venue for a semi-private catch up with friends and family.
